Beautiful Day

Today has been a lovely day so far.

I got up relatively early (not 4.45am or anything ridiculous like that!!) and was all set to go to the gym. However, I decided I didn't really feel like jumping around in a room full of sweaty people, so I went for a bike ride along the Nightcliff foreshore. I find this one of the most beautiful places in Darwin, especially when you look to your right (or left, depends which way you are going) and see the ocean very close up. So close you can smell the sea and feel the breeze on your face.

After getting home and having a shower (and marvelling at how jelly-like my legs felt), Amy came and picked me up and we went to the Rapid Creek markets. After a bit of a look around we decided to go to the Nightcliff markets and check them out. I had a banana shake which was nice and tried some of those rice paper rolls, they are really quite yummy with soy sauce and chillie. I'm trying to be healthy these days because I want to look good at Joanne's wedding in Melbourne.

After a little wandering around, I bought myself a bracelet (not that I need another one!!). Amy and I then relaxed with a coffee (my mocha wasn't actually very good). To kill a little more time, we went to the second hand book store where I bought......wait for it........six Mills and Boon double digests for $2.00!!! So yeah, I think I might start getting into the really serious stuff.

All in all it was a very nice typical dry season day in Darwin. Very slow and relaxing. To top it all off, I'm going to watch the soccer match between Australia and Brazil later on tonight. It should be good.

I will let you all know how it goes!!!

Jack Handy Thought For The Day: I guess I kinda lost control, because in the middle of the play I ran up and lit the evil puppet villain on fire. No, I didn't. Just kidding. I just said that to help illustrate one of the human emotions, which is freaking out. Another emotion is greed, as when you kill someone for money, or something like that. Another emotion is generosity, as when you pay someone double what he paid for his stupid puppet.

A Picture Says A Thousand Words

As you can see Kasun and I had some entertaining times whilst he visited Darwin. This particular masterpiece was taken at Berry Springs in May. I think it really highlights our different personalities and shows the world what a long tongue I have (all the better to lick you with my dear!!!).

P.S. The previous paragraph is dripping with sarcasm (almost as much as Yoomi and Mel spread on their toast each morning), so take no notice of it. I only posted this picture because I really have no idea what to say. I hope I have kept you entertained.

Take care.

Jack Handy Thought For The Day: There's nothing so tragic as seeing a family pulled apart by something as simple as a pack of wolves.

A Long Time Coming

Hi People,

Seeing as I have almost disappeared off the face of the planet, I thought I'd better update.

I have been relatively busy lately. Kasun came up to Darwin last time I was here which was fun. I know Yoomi found this out through Kasun when she met him near (wait for it) Starbucks in Parramatta. It was kind of a last minute decision for him to come so I was unable to spread the word. In fact quite a few of my friends in Darwin were a little shocked to see us together. "He only just came here!!" they said. I replied "that was three months ago!!" Just came here, my foot!!

I've gotten into music quite a lot lately. This is due to the fact that Natasha (my lab buddy) is into anything and everything. She has even kinda got me into "Korn", I was actually afraid of that kind of music. I like one song "twisted transistor", it's pretty cool.

I have a lot of people I need to ring this time, so stay near your phones because I'll be getting in touch!!! I can't believe it is the 3rd June already. Where has the time gone??

I went out last night with Natasha and Amy, it was fun and I haven't danced like that for AGES!!! I have a sore throat though.

By the way, it is FREEZING at McArthur River!!!!! A very chilly 7 degrees in the morning!!! Damn!! I console myself by looking at how cold it is in Canberra and thanking my lucky stars that I'm not there at the moment freezing my butt off!!

Lots more tourists in Darwin, so this is a hint for you guys, come to Darwin!!!!

My contract is due to expire soon, I'm pretty sure I will be either made permanent or have my contract extended, but I will believe it when I see something on paper. I can't believe that 6 months are almost up.

I also had a phone call from a good old buddy Xiang relatively recently. Nice to talk to you again!!! Leave a comment on my blog next time you have a look!!!

This is a strange post, I know, a little disjointed, but so am I at the moment!!!!

Take care!!!!!
